چکیده
Abstract Background and Aims α-amylase, an enzyme present in plasma peritoneal tissue, takes part the process of starch digestion. During exchange with icodextrin-based solution, polysaccharide chains are hydrolysed to shorter oligosaccharide chains, influencing osmotic properties dialysate. We estimated transport parameters compared them hydrolytic clearances using a new model that into consideration absorption icodextrin from cavity its degradation by α-amylase. Method Frequent dialysate blood samples were taken 11 patients (8 icodextrin-naïve, 3 icodextrin-exposed) undergoing 16-hour dwell studies dialysis solution labeled serum albumin (RISA) added as volume marker. Using data on intraperitoneal concentrations glucose, urea, creatinine, 7 molecular weight (MW) fractions (glucose polymer size classes) α-amylase extended three-pore was applied estimate individual related induced hydrolysis The following MW cut-off values assumed for fractions: up 1.08, 4.44, 9.89, 21.4, 43.5, 66.7 over kDa, called Fractions 1–7, respectively. defined rate at which is cleared fraction hydrolysis. time-dependent calculated diffusive ones. Clinical effects of icodextrin in peritoneal dialysis
Objective. This study reviews the relevant publications on the clinical effects of icodextrin in peritoneal dialysis (PD). Design. The study provides a systematic review of the literature (MEDLINE search with icodextrin as the keyword). Results. Icodextrin induces sustained transcapillary ultrafiltration during long dwell periods. It also stimulates increased removal of sodium by the peritoneal...

Using changes in cell counts and levels of cancer antigen 125 (CA125), fibrinogen degradation product (FDP), and interleukin-6 (IL-6) in effluent before and after the use of icodextrin-based peritoneal dialysis solution (icodextrin), we evaluated the effects of icodextrin on peritoneal membrane. The subjects were 8 anuric patients (4 men, 4 women) who had been using a 2.5% glucose-based dialysi...
متن کاملEfficacy and Biocompatibility of Neutral Icodextrin Peritoneal Dialysis Fluid.
Neutral icodextrin peritoneal dialysis (PD) fluid (n-ICO) has become available for use in Japan. However, removal of water and solutes remains to be elucidated in detail. The present study was designed to determine removal of water, electrolytes, and small, middle, and large molecules in a period of 16 hours. In addition, biocompatibility with respect to peritoneal mesothelial cells was determi...
